Wife & I stopped here because they advertise on billboards a Indian restaurant that is open 24 hours. We get here to find out that they only serve 2 things until 10am then the full menu is available. We decided to leave since we didn't like the two things that were available.
On our way out, we noticed a Rottweiler puppy that was tied up to the railing. When I tried to pet it, it was nervous and pissed on itself. It was on a extremely short leash, it was sitting on its own urine and poop. The dog had no food or water. The owner of the truck stop said it was someone else's. We had our doubts. We decided to call the cops & have them talk to the owner about not keeping the dog like that. As we were waiting for the police, the dog fell over the railing & was basically hanging from its neck. It would have died if it wasn't for the fact that the dog was able to stand on its tip toes. Another driver & I quickly ran over and were able to save it from choking to death. When the police came, they talked to the owner who said the dog belonged to one of his drivers and that he was on his way to get the dog.
I have my doubts that this guy was telling the truth. If any of you go by this way and are a animal lover....please follow up for me.

It takes a lot to phase me, but I was in this place last week because I wanted to get some of that hard-to-find Indian food (I stop at the one in Spiceland, IN when I can) out there while waiting for a load. I decided to use the bathroom first. The urinals are both broken and were covered in trash bags, but someone ripped a hole in one to continue using it and the smell was terrible. I went in to the lone stall and I was glad I had my mud boots on because there was more water on the floor than in the bowl. Not the worst place I've ever seen before, but all the signs were pointing to "don't eat here." I was even a little wary about drinking some bottled drinks I bought there. I probably saved myself a lot of time on my drive home by trusting my usually-stalwart gut and making tracks out of there. To make things worse, the big "truck parking" lot they have is all hill and you'll be sleeping in the corner of the bunk if you spend the night there.

This place is starting to sound like most of the independent truckstops these days...Toilets that happen to have truck parking.

Guess you have never been to the Boise Stage Stop, Baker Truck Corral, Russell's Truck and travel center, Pelican Truck stop,The Gear Jammer , Jubitz, TTT, Little America, Shoemakers, to name a few independents who run outstanding operations. And i'm sure the are many other i don't know about.
The places that are like the run down crap hole MENTIONED IN THE ORIGANL POST, are almost mostly ran by people who don't care about the condition of their property, or they can't afford to fix anything, because the big 4 have 'stoled' their business away with deep discounts, only they can afford to give.
Personally i avoid places like the one mentioned in the story.
All independents,
