My brake lights stay on anywhere from 5-17 seconds after application and come to a stop, but vehicle will still move with no resistance after release of brake. Have a 2007 freight liner M 2

Check for any corrosion on the connections at the brake lights and look for any worn spots in the wiring also. On top of what the other guy said

Sometimes the switch under the brake pedal gets debris around it causing the pedal to not release fully. Mine was doing so recently. I sprayed it real good with parts cleaner and it worked normally until I was able to replace the switch.
