I could use some information on insurance that covers towing my truck to a shop in the event of a breakdown. The company I lease to will come and get their trailer, and "maybe" tow my truck along with it as well. But, right now the only coverage I have for a breakdown is my bank cards. A little help, please. Jim

I wouldn't call it insurance but more like AAA for trucks, rignation offers towing, jump starts, tire changes etc for $50 per month.
***I don't have their service so I can't say how good or bad a deal it is***Starboyjim Thanks this. -

I have towing on my policy up to 650 per tow. I've used it twice in 8 yrs.

I paid a subscription to Roadside Masters yesterday. They had a sale, what else could I do?
$325 for a full year. If something happens and they help me, it'll be already paid for. They had a pretty good thing after the first 50 miles in the plan. I think all truck insurance policies should have towing protection, right? I feel a little weak about finding out after quite a bit of time, but I've avoided the hook so far and now have a little protection. It was an article in Team Run Smart about predatory towing practices that started me off on this voyage, and I'm glad for their information. -
One more thing, while it was Team Run Smart's article that alerted me to breakdown insurance, it was help from TTR members who provided the resources to shop for that insurance and cover my backside.
So, thanks, Members!insertnamehere, mp4694330 and Terry270 Thank this. -
How much do you pay? (if you don't mind my asking)
Do you mean 650 miles?Last edited: Apr 25, 2016

I have a rider on my policy called choice plus. It will cover towing and also gives you vanishing deductibles for every year you go without a claim. I'm pretty sure it was $288 per year added to the policy. I think it Will also cover about $500 for roadside repaires.
