I'm new at this particular trucking company in California. I'm an older woman and run solo all 48. This company , is not only cheap in maintaining their truck. But what is their responsibility, in repairing the truck. My starter isn't working. My boss had to pay X2 $300. Each time to pull start this truck. But won't replace starter. I am broke down two days now, truck won't start. Meaning I can't run the heater and I'm in Pennsylvania and it's way too cold for any comfort. I'm freezing actually. And he is not answering my texts or calls. What is my responsibility here? And what is his?

I’d start looking for a new company.... you’re new and things aren’t gonna get any better.
Broke Down 69, whoopNride, DTP and 3 others Thank this. -
Can you get a flight home?
You are very employable and don’t need this BS. Not your truck, not your problem.drvrtech77 and Lonesome Thank this. -
Wow. That is crazy. Company is responsible to keep truck running. And keep truck legal. Right now it's not running. Take a bus home. Leave the truck where it is. Unless you are loaded.
Lonesome Thanks this. -
His responsibility is to fix the darned truck! Tell him you're leaving, if it ain't fixed correctly in the next 2 hours.
Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
Saturday night before Christmas Eve ... it ain’t getting fixed right tonight.
Bump start again is your best hope....and don’t shut it off.
Or call the local truck (brand of tractor) dealer and have it towed in . And take a bus/ rental car home.......
It’s your responsibility to make sure truck is in safe place..... that’s all....Last edited: Dec 23, 2017

What’s the starter doing ? Get someone to help you, while someone is hitting the starter at the same time try starting in it. Probably silenoid is stuck. Or, get someone to pull you and dump the clutch
wore out Thanks this. -
I would try to get it started probably even though it isn't actually driver responsibility. I would then immediately see if my fuel card was working. It kinda seems like the ship may be a sinkin

That's jam to be in, maybe a hotel room or bump start again. I can't see it getting repair till Tuesday evening that would be lucky since shops will be backed up with work that was not finished today.
TA or Petro might be able to replace a starter but seems like boss doesn't wants to pay anyone to fix it. -
You can hang out in driver lounge if you at good truck stop. It's supposed to snow in PA and will be to cold in truck without heat I would think.
