They are different articles, but both on the same exact topic.
It makes it much easer for readers to follow and comment on one topic in one thread.
That way all the info is consolidated and people are not having to make the same comments twice.
It is why I posted that info that came out of PATT and CRASH in that thread, I saw no need for a new thread on the same topic.

How can you drive 77 hours in 7 days under the current system?

You can't. I've been trying to figure that one out since I first heard it. I think those idiots are only counting the 11-hour rule and completely shining on the 70. Even under the 70, it's not possible to drive the full 70. There are PTIs, fueling, loading, unloading, etc...

I really want to see the creative math that brings them to the conclusion. This is the kind of $%&# that is spewed when people try to talk about things they don't understand. And no matter how often or loudly you show them, they refuse to be confused by the facts.

A good thing I see is allowing off duty time in the passenger seat. I would like to see the 14 hour rule go away. It does nothing to keep anyone on a Circadian rhythm and in many cases, forces us to drive against that rhythm. However, those desk jockeys just don't seem to understand that.

It is mathematically possible to drive 74 hours in 7 days under the current rules.

    7 X 24 = 168 hours.

If you run 11 rest 10 for 6 cycles that is 126 hours. Run 4 more then take a 34 that is 164 hours allowing you to run 4 more hours to 168.
