Bridge Height

You should clear everything. Our van devision ,TWT, runs high cube vans all over the northwest. Just stick a tape measure on it to make sure your not to tall. If I remember right the high cube's have a max 5th wheel height of 47.5".

14' is legal in the northwest without permits and a lot of 3/4 axle van run high cube and that puts you right at 14'. SOP up here.

so being 14 am I able to go under a 14’ bridge or does it’s need to have some inches after that...

Yes you need a couple of inches to fudge. Sometimes they will put a lift/pave on an existing road and not change the sign. There are plenty of low bridges in the port towns along the West coast. Auto transport can be difficult when older established dealerships are in the old town.

Jeez. i’m 13’6” can i go under a 12’2” bridge? Well if your in New York, yes you can!

 

Rule of thumb:
1. Know exactly how tall you actually are. Use tape measure!
2. If the bridge says 14'0". That is the maximum height they want going under there. You will be fine.

I used to think the same in the eastern part of the country where 13'6" is the standard. Thankfully now I run the same stuff over and over so not many new roads for me.

Beware sometime those height signs are off. I would never trust a sign when I was that close. Never take anything for granted about our national highway infrastructure.
