It's hard not to be mad at the aggressive and outrageous driving here. Yet our neighbors are the most friendly, fun, and good people on the planet. So I'm not regretting we moved here. I just wish people would give their driving a little more thought. Maybe it's not Texans. It's somebody.

I can say the two things that I have found about the most aggressive drivers here in Tejas are they have disabled veteran license plates and they all go to church on sundays.

Disabled parking spots were first envisioned for people with physical disabilities, ie, unable to walk far.
If you watch now, you see people with disabled plates or placards park, then jump out and run into the business. Are they disabled? Probably, but with mental disabilities.
Now for the fireworks. Does PTSD, BiPolar, or other such disabilities prevent a person from parking in a regular spot, further from the entrance? And it's not just military people. Or, they have parents or SO that are disabled but think it is ok for them to park in a handicap spot when the person for who the plate is for is not there.
I have VA disabilities from Viet Nam but would never think about getting a handicap plate or placard.
The states need to tighten up the issuance of these plates.

There have been some times in my work where a plate would have been nice. Due to a significant back injury, and some metal odds and ends embedded in my arms and legs... sometimes my legs just don't operate as they should. Nerve damage is a funny thing. Some days, I can almost run, and some days I can barely tolerate sitting in the seat. It would be nice to be able to park close in to the building so I have an easier time getting to the crapper on those beat the clock days, where I can barely walk as is, let alone when I am waddling trying to keep yesterday's lunch from becoming today's ruined jeans.

Hmmm, maybe some of these flatbedders need to stick to lumber and rebar, it’s obvious motorized equipment is out of their wheelhouse….,

I saw one of those Friday when I went to pay my phone and cable bill. Some entitled ##### by herself in a Lexus with a hang tag on the mirror zipped into a handicapped spot and sashayed right into the place next door with a look on her face daring any Caucasian to say a word so she could scream “racist”.

It’s easy to get handicap placard. You can get one from a chiropractor.
As for the disabled veteren plates here in Tejas 98% are not and they are retired Airforce. Part of the USAF retirement after 20 years is giving some kind of disability. Than many come back to work as civilians in the same capacity. My wife has 37 years as civilian working with these folks and has not worked with anyone in that amount of time that gas been physically disabled. Just prima donna’s. Especialky the retired pilots. They come to work in porshes, masaradi’s, and other cars over 80 or 100 grand with DV plates proudly displayed on them. On top of that If you get DAV plates in Texas the vehicle registration is free in most cases.

Moved to Texas in 2013, I still hate it when somebody ‘runs on the shoulder’ to ‘let me pass’. Kicking up stones and debris onto my vehicle? Thank you very much, NOT! Just do the kindly thing and speed up.
