Michelin discontinued the XZA3+ a few years ago.

The tire that replaced it is the called the X-Line Energy Z.

I have a older set of Bridgestone R283 (not the “a” version) that I installed in 2016 and they seem to holding up well so far.

I will use Bridgestone M726EL for drive tires as IMO they are the longest lasting drive tire that I have ever used.

From my personal experience I think Michelin drive tires are garbage, they start feathering on the outside ribs and eventually the blocks start deteriorating.

Michelin XZA3+ was a excellent steer tire when I had them on my truck, not too sure about the wear and life of the X Line Energy Z that replaced it.

I have m710's for drives and in the wet they slide alot. I am switching to Michelin's drives in a few months.

Mine were the 283a, didn't do well at all. Your not the first person I've heard of that like them. I bought a set on recommendation.

X line, xza3, xza3+, whatever they want to call them. Good tire for what I do

I love my 283a steers! The tires that come on new Volvo’s from the factory are load range H and a lot heavier ply in order to legally obtain front axle load rating. These H spec tires suck and my first set only lasted exactly 100k miles. Put on another set of 283a load range G tires along with a set of Centramatic wheel balancers and they have 150k on them right now and have wore 100% perfectly even and still have 40% tread left.

1st pic below is original H rated tire that wore down to the belt on one rib on one half the tire. 2nd & 3rd pics are my current 283a “G” rated steers I just took pics of with 150k miles on them 335AB4AB-A78E-472D-9D75-86131CA5FBDC.jpeg C9DB3571-ACB1-4A8E-969E-14164E60B450.jpeg 9C63C34C-E5BD-4EC8-9688-B3E41A5412E4.jpeg

I have 6 of the Bridgestone 726EL drive tires out back that came with 32/32” tread. They will hook up and have good traction but I HATE those tires! I run max weight of 80k about 90% of the time and even with balancers installed I cannot get these tires to wear even & not shake. They always always always develop “step” wear on those big lugs and slightly cup . My other 2 drive tires are the Michelin XDN2 and these are my new favorite drive tire! Absolutely love these open shoulder rib style tires. They ride so freakin smooth on the highway and I swear they don’t wear! LOL seriously though, the tires in the pics below are the ones on my truck now and have atleast 180k miles on them that I know of for sure. Maybe even up to 250k. They come with 26/32 tread depth and these still have 20/32 and have wore 100% even and still look brand new. They are on the RF but still....These will be my only drive tires from now on.
