The wife and I have been to Venice 3 times in the last 25 years. What he says is right, if you want to fall into the tourist trap. We didn’t. We rented a small villa outside of the tourist area each time we there. We saw all the things that mattered. The money we spent has been offset by the 3 Murano Glass pieces we bought that have tripled in value that we checked on recently, ones that the artist that made 2 of them has passed away and the value skyrocketed. We love Venice, sorry the author got sucked into the tourist trap. But then again, like a true American here, my perspective about the British, they haven’t really said or done anything that matters since 1776. Dude should have stayed in the West End of London. He really would have something to ###### about.

By the way, I just got our flights secured for Singapore, Bangkok and Phuket for 3 weeks in February. You have any helpful insight for first time visitors?

    Thanks for that good information.
As for tips from me right now, I haven't been there in 5 years, so not well updated.
