Bad scene.today. Dispatch got behind I guess and asked me to pick up a load inbound from my drop. No sweat, right? Well, I was short on hours and I tried to tell them I couldn't make it work. Was advised to go to sleeper berth, then log out and claim I was PC between pickup and yard, with a notorious HP trap and a scale in my way. I refused and called him out now the hos rules, told him to fire me if he wanted. Got the whole exchange on text message...guess I'll hold on to that. What a mess. Going to talk to owner tomorrow about this.
Airborne, Oxbow, Crusader66 and 8 others Thank this. -
The owner will probably tell you it was all just a misunderstanding. Don't worry about it. It's all good.

I'm guessing that Scooter is right, but keep that back up, just in case. Is this dispatcher aware that you have the proof? If not, this could get interesting, particularly if he tries to deny it all!

That's a conversation that should be forwarded to the safety person at your company. Inform them that you refused it this time, next time you'll be reporting them to the FMCSA goons.

To use personal conveyance in a company truck, you better be bob-tail, you draggin a trailer, they are going to start asking questions you dont want to answer.
Now, an owner/operator with a trailer is different. still they get looked at real hard when making the claim of PC.
When I would be heading home, I always had my dispatch send something on the system. always had some form of wording "no work this weekend, take truck home, call in on monday"Oxbow, Crusader66, Broke Down 69 and 3 others Thank this. -
