Just last week I caught a 16 pound salmon.
Not much of a fighter, almost like it was handed to me.

Go fishing in Puget Sound. The caffeine running from the sewers in Seattle give them some fight.

While I'm not a fishing guy, down here they snatch up catfish in the myakka that are bigger than i am.
Tarpon, snook, and redfish are other prevalent around the harbor. And expect the occassional shark to wander up the river.

Its funny, i live within 20 minutes of a fishing paradise and don't even own a rod. Also surrounded by great golfing but haven't been in years.

I've lived for years right across from the N. Umpqua River which has some of the finest in season salmon fishing in the PNW. I've never even thrown a line into the water LOL

A little off subject here. A guy I know called me yesterday, he's a tank hauler for Indian River. He told me he's only been home 1 freaking time since Christmas and that was only to do a 34 hour restart. And he only averages about 2,200 miles a week to boot.

    That's sad...

"You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store"

I thought it was fish stories time.
Truth is, it was from a local seafood store.
they get good fish, alot of it comes in by air.
they claim 24 hours or less from the water for most of the fish they have.

I believe it! And you had the guy tending the fish case throw it to you, so you can honestly say you caught it!:p:D

I was 8 years living at Furnace Creek Ranch and Inn Resort, in Death Valley. Advertised as the lowest golf course in the world. But I never learned to golf, even though a pro there offered me free lessons. Just couldn't get interested in it.
I won't argue it being sad, but I can't feel sorry for him. His decision to keep working for them.

So was it frozen, or fresh?
Around here, the idiots in the supermarkets have been advertising "frozen defrosted salmon." Uh mr grocer, if you leave it frozen, I'll buy it from you. But since it is going right into my deep-freeze, until I'm ready to prepare and cook it, I've got no interest in buying some that has been defrosted.
