Very true. Trust me, I'm not one of those brain dead idiots who has to have a truck for the sake of having a truck. I'd rather keep doing what I'm doing than buy a world of headaches just so I can say I'm an o/o.

Yeah, I'm not going to be ready to buy a truck for at least a year and a half, possibly more. In the meantime, I'm window shopping and getting feedback on options. Found a real nice 2015 Columbia midroof glider with 240K on it, $72K. But, not buying something without being ready.

And to some extent that's what I'm doing. However, having a guaranteed place to put the truck to work and knowing how well established the outfit is, I would buy now if I found the exact right truck. Having said that, I am becoming more and more convinced that new is the way to go. With that being the case, a year to 18 months is really a more realistic timeline. Fitzgerald is out of the question...to much money for a product whose quality is going downhill fast. Harrison is looking better and better.

I would have to ask my GF's dad who he had build his. I won't buy even a low-mileage used emissions truck, it's either pre-03, brand new Pete/KW, or a new/used glider. Gotta make the GF happy and buy a house first, plus have savings and a down payment. And then most likely sign with Mercer, after I have my business plan drawn up.

I have a friend who bought a new Glider through Harrison around the same time as I bought my new Volvo 670 emissions truck. His Glider is not all they're cracked up to be.

Besides that, my Volvo D13 with I-Shift smokes his fuel mileage.

Well, I showed up 2 hrs early at Costco this morning. I looked at next week's delivery schedule for the load I am scheduled on.

Guess I ate too many chocolate bunnies yesterday.

Oh well, guess it's better early than late.

I don't see to many Volvos pulling flatbeds, although I would imagine they could be specced for it.

Volvos are like Mopeds. They go up and down the road fine, they do the job ok, but boy you don't want to be seen driving one. I laugh every time I see a Volvo with extra chicken lights, like lipstick on a pig.
I don't know what it is- I just don't like them. So many little things, where the jake is, the turn signals cancel, marker interrupt switch, the hood latch is gay, how badly they wander driving, air horn on the steering wheel, they're just "different".
I heard their vocational trucks can be spec'd better.
