I won't have it in 5 to 7 years. Besides that, I run to California and back every week, a glider would do me no good.
Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I plan to sell my truck or trade it before it hits 500k and buy one more new Volvo to finish out my career. I absolutely love my Volvo. I've driven all the rest and this is my preference. That's what it usually comes down to anyways. One guy loves Ford, the other Chevy, there's usually no love loss between the two either![]()

A former employer has dozens of the 630's in the fleet, they are the least problematic trucks. Almost no emissions problems from them. Started getting a lot of them in 2012. All these had the D13.
A cummins from 2012 to 2015, you could not pay me enough to take it. Company had 36 2013 engines replaced under warranty.Airborne, Broke Down 69 and Lepton1 Thank this. -
I really liked the Volvos that I drove with Knight. Of course, they were relatively new. And they had their share of problems. But they were very comfortable. Unlike some of the older ones I had driven.

Cutting my home time short a day to pick up a load in Old Fort heading for Truman, Arkansas. Runs me right through that den of depravity in West Memphis. Last time I took this run I reloaded steel in Jackson, Tennessee...hope I can avoid that this time, not a lot of fun tarping a two foot tall load with a 8 foot lumber tarp.

Copied and pasted from the Rand support thread...
Well, I've had it. My 730 has been a real clunker since I got it. Bricks constantly and the only option then is to let the battery completely discharge before reconnecting and getting it to turn back on. Posted the problem in this thread and the answer was to turn it off regularly, which provided no improvement whatsoever. Go out to the truck this morning to do a pretrip, hop in the cab and now the blessed piece of junk won't even turn on. It's less than six months old and now its a paperweight. That was $400.00 of the most pissed away money I've ever spent and will be the last thing I ever purchase made by Rand that doesn't come printed on laminated pages. The best argument for Garmin is firsthand experience with this lemon...of course they are coming out with a new model soon, but I won't be spending my money on a updated piece of crap that hits the market expecting the end user to do the beta test...my time is money and I'm not wasting anymore of it on equipment that can't do the dang job.Last edited: Apr 18, 2017

If you go way back in the thread, maybe a long way back, you will find several posts from me about the RM products, the problems and how the fix is just around the corner.
After 7 of the units, thats right, 4 of the 5 inch and 3 of the 7 inch, that spent more time in transit between the service center and my house, than in the truck.
After all said and done, I got a check from Rand McNally
for the purchase price of the unit. Still had the receipt.
And a request to please consider becoming a lead beta tester.Airborne, Lepton1 and Broke Down 69 Thank this.
