I think my step son described it perfectly for the feelings you have with an elderly, ailing relative. He said that it's a real rollercoaster ride. He went through it with his dad, and for several months it looked like we were going to be going through it with his mom.
No matter how often you tell yourself to not get either too optimistic, or too pessimistic, it's hard to keep yourself together, when there are so many drastic changes in their condition.

One thing I will mention, The medications may have some form of cost assistance programs. How long they run, what all is involved depends on the drugs and the manufacturer.

While I realize they just got things to stabilize and are still working it out. Check if the drugs they want to use are new or very recent to the market. If so, double check if any other drugs are available that do basically the same thing, but may have been around a while.

Why you may ask should we look into that.
The older drugs may be a lower cost, easier to get and covered under a wider range of prescription plans.

Newer drugs are less likely to be covered, they have little track record and the manufacturer charges higher prices for new drugs

You want to do this now, so they can look at things while she is in close care and can be monitored for problems.
Talk to the doctors, press them for the reasons for the drug choices. Some drugs really are new and really have nothing to use in place of it. OK, go with it. A lot of other do have replacments, and generic is way cheaper than patent products.

I am in West Virginia picking a load up for KC first thing in the morning. Little tired after lapping from Ohio to Virginia and then back up through Virginia to West Virginia in a day. About 675 all together. Trying to run at least that tomorrow as well.

    More later...

Glad to see you're around and still kicking. Keep us updated.

This month has been quite an uptick for me. I'm on pace to run more miles this month since I did in November of last year.

I have mixed feelings about running that hard, because as I've expressed in the past, I'm modestly lazy and like that hometime.

However, the rates have increased quite a bit for me as the demand for trucks has jumped and I realize that it's time to start piling up the acorns for next winter so I can get back to being modestly lazy again.

Pulled in for a splash of fuel at a mom & pop station I use this morning in WA.

A short portly lady with a sizable bottom (not that I should talk) driver in her 50's driving a DSV/UTI/Market Transport truck pulls in ahead of me. One other pump was occupied and the other had such a sharp angle into it I wouldn't have made it pulling a 53' trailer.

Anywho, this darling waddles out and places both fuel nozzles into the tanks and makes her way to the promised land with her 64 oz refill cup. Staring right at the HUGE banner which reads ANY TRUCK PARKED ON FUEL ISLAND NOT GETTING FUEL WILL BE TOWED!

No problem, she placed the fuel nozzles into the tanks clearly demonstrating her intentions.

I'll leave it to your cognitive thinking/reasoning skills as to what really happened ;-)

@Broke Down 69 .... I may not stop by often as the others, but many Kudos to you man, for sharing your life on and off the road, company to company/lifestyle... all the while bettering yourself, and helping others who may read your diaries one day, teetering on this "lifestyle/aka: career."
