Yeah, I know. Problem is I'm greedy. I like the money and it's very hard for me to say no when my mind instantly calculates the financial loss. I want to move into the O/O ranks and every penny in the bank gets me a little closer to that goal.

The greater Dallas area. should be plenty of loads to get you back.
Airborne, Oxbow and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
Airborne Thanks this.

I do agree, HD is a lot like wallyworld. I do buy some specific things from them, only because thats the only place to get them. They sell a number of Zep products that I like.
Having loads going into both of them, a few things I would never buy from HD, lumber and plywood. They buy the crappiest forrest products. -

BD, if they ever give you a load for Killeen, TX I highly suggest you say the heck with the money. There are inner city areas safer than this town...
Airborne, 1951 ford, Broke Down 69 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Oxbow Thanks this.

This run is taking on a very Trans Am like feel. First, a drive tire. Then today my top windshield seal rips loose at 75 mph just west of West Memphis and I had to stop to get that fixed before it beat the hell out of.the roof of my truck. Then the engine starts making an odd, slow, rhythmic thunking sound that disappears the minute I jump out and pop the hood...gonna be sweating that all day tomorrow. But for all that I still knocked out 652 miles and have myself in pretty good shape to get there on time...provided nothing else goes wrong.
Hope y'all are doing good.

I'm doing fabulous, thanks for asking
Deliver early in morning in Sumner, reload with a short same day delivery to Woodburn, reload in Portland Friday morning for Medford, go home for weekend, deliver Monday Medford & reload for L.A., deliver Wednesday, reload for Sumner, WA and start all over again.
I decided to start stringing a couple of additional loads to my south bound run.
The short loads bring way more money per mile, especially on my southbound run, and really help to beef up my overall average.
For example, this upcoming week I will hit $2.25 a mile average on the roundtrip. Which I can assure you for a dry van on the I-5 corridor WA to L.A. & back ain't too shabby.K Wopper906, Oxbow and Broke Down 69 Thank this.
