I never know what to say in times likes these. Hopefully it's enough that you know you're in my thoughts.

I quit funerals for the SAME reason. Broke me to the core, and I purport to be a strong man.

My father is as hard and stoic as an iron plate. The ONLY time I've ever seen him shed a tear was at my grandmother's funeral 25 years ago.

    I've always envied him.

I would also. For all the years my dad DIDN'T cry.... I'm making up for it now. Such a softie for a big fat old guy.

My mom is still "here" ... but not. On random days, she doesn't recognize me, nor the son. She says hi to the wife, because she equates it to "food" . . . . hard in itself. Thanks for stopping by, Mack. I've got my own way of sharing, not in a party mood or "playing" mood tonight at all.

Mother has Alzheimer's I take it?

It's sad what that does to people.

That's okay. Happens to the best of us. Whoever says it doesn't is either lying or not human.

Thank you, @MACK E-6 I appreciate it quite a lot. In this time of great personal loss I've had so many members reach out to me by post, private message, text and phone that it's been truly moving. When I joined this forum I never believed that it would end up being such a source of support and encouragement, both professional and personal, but that's exactly what it's become. Time off? No, I come here because it makes me feel better and hopefully, one day, I'll be able to pay back some measure of the kindness shown to me here.

Yessir. The medicine (I think, anyway.....) just zones her out all the more. I keep asking her if she smokes the wacky weed with my brother... she doesn't even know. :( It's tough.

cke and Big Don Thank this.

You DO pay it forward, by sharing the facets of your life. I had to go mow, (and beat the hail) and choke back... yeah... not trying to lose my man card. I just really have felt what you've been through. I may not reply often, if ever... but life has dealt you a hand. I'm sure you'll come out with a Royal. Praying you do.

You're a tougher man than me, and yeah, big boys.. i'll admit that. You share EVERYthing on the up and up. Sometimes I hide behind my "rescue" missions.... as we all know.

BD, You've paid it forward FIRST. Now, it's YOUR turn to have some mercy in your corner.

    God Bless,
    Tom
