For the foreseeable future, refer. Once I get my feet underneath me as an O/O, I may look at other freight, but right now I'm very content to pull Morehouse freight and learn...as a good friend and O/O just texted me, go slow, you've got a lot to learn. He was right. I've learned a lot in my short driving career, but now the rules of the game change and I have to move slowly and deliberately.

You can take the boy out of flatbed but, you can't take flatbed out of the boy!

It gets inside you quick if you were meant to do it. I miss it every day in a strange way. But then, I wake up, look at the temp reading 12 and see the flags standing straight out and think to myself, "You know, this window don't taste half bad."

Thursday I had my first taste of the season with frozen tarps and straps. I was glad you're out west or I would have had to get on the load with my snow shovel.

I've been running drop and hook vans since just before turkey day. While I've enjoyed the break I'm looking forward to this commitment being over so i can grab my flat once again. But i do have to admit it has me once again considering a Conestoga.

Yes you have a lot to learn and you can't get in a hurry or you'll make mistakes. You've got it a lot easier with the new reefers. The old ones would teach you not to sleep. I learned a lot about them fast. I know you'll do well. Nice looking truck.

Before doing any modifications, it might be a good idea to invest in a reader / programer.

The scanguageD works well, but take a lot of button pushing and scrolling to read most things. It will clear codes, it is a read only device.

The Bully dog bigrig units show more information on screen, less scrolling. They are not cheap. The heavy duty GT is $1800 then it does allow you to change tunings and other ECM settings. You can choose from 3 levels of tune on the fly.

They do have a straight tuner unit. A few years ago they had more tunes on them. The tunes do seem to work.

Have a buddy with the Bully GT in his truck. Said it was the best money he ever spent.
