Chicago sucks, this is a well known fact among truck drivers of even modest experience, but for all that, this place is a breeze. @bzinger told me how easy a place to get to it was and how if you couldn't hit a dock here you needed to find another line of work. Thing is i know him and to say he has a bizarre sense of humor would be an understatement of staggering proportion. So in the back of my head I'm prepared.for the real Chicago...backing in blindside across traffic into an alley just wide enough to park a small car, provided you didn't need to open the doors. But the joint is about a mile off 55 and has more.sapce than even the newest rookie needs to get lined up and backed in. Unload between 1800 and 1900 then round out my 10 and head for Franklin, Wisconsin to load for NC and a Christmas break.

    More later...

    Why Bigroad?
A few other solutions for single truck or small fleets are available. Garmin and Keeptruckin are two that come to mind. Rand McNally has one as well, but have doubts about it. Seems to have problems. JJKeller has one as well but sure seemed to be expensive on the fees.
PeopleNET and Qualcomm plus all the others in that class have very high cost, not good for single truck or small fleet.

I've been using BigRoad for 2 years now. They have one of best interfaces out there and I've used other systems as a company driver too. The transition was seamless. Plug in the DashLink, turn on the Bluetooth of my Samsung Tab S3, connect via my Mobile Hotspot on my phone and that was it, besides making sure the AOBRD setting was checked in the administrator settings, it was easy.

Make sure you turn off the screen on whatever device you use. I used to leave my phone on to show my hours and now I've got the HOS interface burned into the screen.
