This isn't looking good, BD hasn't posted since Monday.

Does this have something to do with the Hooters Girl, a illness or the last trip?

Personally I hope it's the Hooters Girl!! Lol

Hopefully he made it home finally, and is taking some time off with his family.

I saw a news story a couple of days ago that a woman posing as a Hooter Girl was arrested for mass murders, turns out she was a serial killer who preyed on truck drivers.

    I hope BD69er is okay.

Well, the Hooters girl was a nice two day diversion while I waited out the infectious period of strep throat, which all three of the kids had. Now they are well, I am home with them and am beginning to think that a North West Pacific snow dump may be preferable the job these three are doing running me ragged. I actually picked up a load in Hickory yesterday bound for Charlotte to help out my dispatcher who was in a little bind, then had to run up I85 about 45 miles to swap my empty for a loaded going to Thomasville, NC Monday afternoon...so I got a bit of time off to recover from a fairly long run on the road.

Funny how children can remind a full grown man of what's really important in life...

Dad's having a few problems again but the doctors say it's all part of his recovery and shouldn't be worried about. I worry anyhow.

    More later...

Funny how in just a few months this job has sort of got inside me. I'm making really good money, got a wad of cash in my pocket right now and a bank account swelling faster than it ever has in my life. I'm not hurting financially, I'm home with my kids, well they left with their mother last night, and don't have to be anywhere until 1230 Monday...and even then it's only about 50 miles up the road...I'm going out with some buddies tonight to act like we're 25 again, and yet...

    I'm ready to roll.

A few days off and it seems I'm hearing some sort of constant subliminal message telling me the adventure awaits, why the hell are you setting still? My new favorite pastime is looking at the Truck Paper and trying to figure out how long it'll take me to learn the lessons needed about the business to make that move to the O/O side and buy that hood set up to pull crazy miles with a slam loaded deck.

    Weird.

Just a few days ago I was cab crazy and ready to flip out but now I miss it...I need to feel that Coronado shaking my teeth out and see what's over that next hill.

Wish I had done this 20 years ago.

I know exactly how you feel. After 3 years I still get the 'itch' after just a couple days home.
I also wish I found this earlier in life... but I guess I was just not ready....

You definitely have the right attitude, I wish I still felt the same way. I want to exit the industry completely, but there are times when I just kick back and do what I do best - DRIVE. No phone, no Internet, no TV...just me and the truck and thoughts of my kids.

Continued well wishes to you, Sir. I'm still enjoying your ramblings.
