So what was done to the motor? I thought it was a cam bearing.

Yep, let her warm up. Not cook the motor but keep temp up to help seat everything

It was. Problem was there was so much shrapnel in the oil pan and filters the possibility of more damage couldn't be discounted. After a long conference between me, my company owner and the mechanic, it was decided to err on the side of caution and just repack the block. I got a look at some of the parts removed and I can say we made the right decision.

About to head over and reload. 1847 miles to Minneapolis, then over to Mellen, Wisconsin for a load to Old Fort, NC. I think I'll be doing another Oregon lap after I finish this loop. Fine by me.

    More later...

What a day. Took forever to get loaded. Then got pulled in for a level 1...no hits but lost an hour...held up for another two with a wreck on 97 in the middle of nowhere. Ran out of smokes waiting on them to clear the road. Only truck stop in range was full early, so I'm stuck in a rest stop eating canned ravioli because I would rather set my head on fire with a gallon of gas and put it out with a hammer than eat another Subway sandwich. Tomorrow will be mountainous through Idaho and Montana for half the day but once it levels out I should make some pretty good time. I'll need to to make up for today.

    How'd y'all make out?

What route are you taking to get up here? If you are coming up i15 to 90 exit in Dillon and head to twin bridges. Hang a left in twin bridges and stay on that road all the way to Whitehall. Bypasses Homestake pass.
