When the old man had to go and the kids took over I didn’t expect #### to be this different.
My manager is in her early 20s never been inside a truck before.
The guy they brought in for the shop looks like he likes to warm up lightbulbs with a lighter.Trucker61016, JoeyJunk and lovesthedrive Thank this. -

You can’t do a split sleeper if the truck doesn’t have one.......
that’s the only way to stop the 14 hour clock other then 10 hours off...88 Alpha, Trucker61016, Sirscrapntruckalot and 2 others Thank this. -
Well, if you want to be picky, you should have logged on duty while waiting on the truck to get fixed. At the very least, on duty until it was towed....
On-duty time means all time from the time a driver begins to work or is required to be in readiness to work until the time the driver is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work. On-duty time shall include:
(6) All time repairing, obtaining assistance, or remaining in attendance upon a disabled commercial motor vehicle;tscottme, Trucker61016, brian991219 and 4 others Thank this. -
how the hell can a 3 hour break after driving for 3 hours let me work 11 hours?
why can I take a 7hr break at the end of the day and it be like I did a 10 at the end?
WHY ARE NONE OF THE ELOGS THE SAME lolTrucker61016 Thanks this. -
edit:I did go on duty for swapping my belongings over and the pre trip.Trucker61016 and nredfor88 Thank this. -
Frank, we have disagreed before. But have to give you credit. Telling someone to "Go pound sand in thier %^&" hands down is one favorite. Idk if everyone gets it. Or " Go P up a rope". Some older generations quotes are lost on the younger generation. I'm just in the middle.TripleSix, Speed_Drums, Frank Speak and 2 others Thank this. -
You were technically on duty during that 7. If you had been in the sleeper during that 7, you could have gone 3 more and declared 10 off and restarted your 14. If you were doing the 7 outside of the truck then your onduty and cant claim the 7 plus 3 more (making 10)
Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
As you can see if you dont know how this rule works it can be very confusing... So if you dont kniw how it works, DONT DO IT!!!!
As a side note: ELDs will do a split sleeper reset, each brand functions slightly different but give the same end result. That said, my ELD will do the split berth, but it wont calculate my clocks for me. So I have to calculate what my clocks should be, and once it is done (provided I did it correctly) it recognises iy as a split berth and removes any violations it thought I was acrueing.tarmadilo Thanks this.
