Don't ever listen to people like this. I don't know why he even replied when he has nothing helpful to add.
Grumppy is giving great advice, follow it, or hire an attorney. Personally that's what I would do, I've done it many times over the years, and always have gotten it reduced to a non moving violation. That's all they want is your money.
I'm not hard up for cash and it's easier to just get an attorney to take care of everything and I forget about it. If your on a tighter budget you may want to take grumppy's route instead. Anyways good luck.

Your best option is to follow the advice of Grumppy. Contact the prosecutor and plead your case. I wouldn't wait to do it in a courtroom full of onlookers because the judge may not be swayed. If you don't get any cooperation from the prosecutor then you have to decide whether to hire an attorney. Make sure you see whatever the agreed upon deal is in writing before making any final moves.

Sounds to me as if the school zone wasn't active at the time you got busted..TequilaSunrise Thanks this. -
Unless he was late taking his kid to school I figure there's a pretty good chance it was active.
And a really good chance he should have realized it.TequilaSunrise, roshea and Blackshack46 Thank this. -
I hired an attorney back in 1997 to get a ticket reduced. The cop had written the ticket for 87 in a 55 on hwy301in Nahunta , Ga. The lawyer charged $350 and said he was golfing partners with the judge. Sent him the money, lawyer called and said it would take another $400 to "get rid" of the ticket. Sent him $400, no speeding ticket ever hit my record. Was it worth it? Considering I had just started driving a truck in 1996, and just started with the company I worked for at the time I would absolutely do the same thing over again.

Thank God you slipped by this time and only got a ticket. You were so oblivious to your speed, a child could have met your front bumper.
It absolutely kills me that people want to help you keep a clean record when you do dangerous actions.
What the hell am I out here busting my balls for to be safe if I can just get everything wiped clean with a phone call?
Honestly, what will you learn if you can just wipe your slate clean every time you f up, but didn't kill someone.
Your a truck driver for God's sake. Be a professional driver at all times because you share that road with everyone.
Rant over.roshea Thanks this. -

Here's something helpful...Don't depend on legal advice from an internet forum.
TequilaSunrise, joesmoothdog and Tropsnart Thank this. -
A lot of times when you get to court they will drop it to a non moving violation if you pay the fine. Fines usually the same.
