Yes fight every ticket. If you killed someone's kid, fight that ticket. I mean that kid shouldn't have been walking in the school zone while I was doing 52 in a 30 zone to begin with. Tell the judge you are a truck driver aka king of the road.
This is ludicrous.
Broke the Cardinal Rule...

Listen to grumpy its solid sound advise.
Make sure you talk to the ADA directly and do not try to talk to the court personnel or the judge.
The ADA will be the one who prosecutes the case the judge usally goes along with whatever the ADA recommends.
If your record is clean it should not be a problem. -
You all for the driver know #### well he is wrong. If you happened to be standing on the sidewalk with your children and some ### hat came flying through doing 22 mph over the speed limit, we would all be the first to burn them at the stake.
Anyone that thinks it's perfectly acceptable and the record should be cleared, God help you.Last edited by a moderator: Dec 20, 2016

He who has never sinned cast the first stone
Terry270 Thanks this. -
Doing 22 mph over the speed limit.
Where's the bag of stones?
Or should I say:
Since we've all sinned at one point or another, we should help all the wrongdoers in getting away with the crime?
Everybody wants to yell safety first, the law don't care about safety, the government don't care about safety, so why should we care about anybody else's safety. Right? -
Blackshack, thats not the point. I understand & no one here is advocating that he get off free from this. The advice he has been given is going to cost him one way or the other. We all make mistakes. No one is free from mistakes in this life, including you. You have had to pay for those mistakes in one way or another. So will the OP, whether he takes my advice & asks the DA to reduce his ticket to a non-movable, he will still have to pay the fine for the speeding ticket more than likely. If he hires an attorney to get this worked out for him, its still going to cost him at least a couple hundred dollars. Either way, its going to cost him for his mistake.
For heaven's sake, it isnt like he does this on a regular basis. If so, by now, he would know how to handle these things. It was a mistake. Nothing any different in general from mistakes you have made during your life time & paid for. Just as it cost you, this will cost him. No one here has given him any advise that would get him off scott free. If he was a habitual offender, it would be different to let him suck it up. But an occasional mistake justifies a little leniency. He hopefully has learned his lesson & will pay more attention. He will pay for his mistake. -

The problem for him is, the officer already cut him a break writing him 14 over instead of 22 over in order to protect his CDL. Make a big stink over the 14 over ticket and it may just get ammended back up to the 22 over he was caught doing. Now, instead of JUST a speeding ticket, he's got a "serious violation" per 383.51...another one of those inside of 3 years DQ's him for 60 days.
Yes, the speeding ticket sucks, but tread lightly knowing you've already received a break.roshea Thanks this.
