also try to negotiate this on first court, where they usually don't call officer to come. because if they call officer and if he shows up (odds are he won't, but you never know) there is big chance that he will get angry and present evidence that you were going at 52 so conviction will be more painful. But try it first, go to court and speak with prosecutor

I agree with Grumppy, maybe because its Christmas, maybe because I am just trying to be good-hearted but to just take the hit because you were really speeding is not enough reason to have a mark against your record, higher insurance premiums, possibly becoming un-hireable with some trucking companies, etc.
Those of you who told him to "man up". Yeah, that really helps him. I'm sure if you were in that situation, you would not like getting kicked while you were down. I cannot have much respect for those of you who could not offer some constructive advice.
Thank you nevertheless for YOUR posting as I will make sure I won't seek any advice from you in the future.
We have plenty enough enemies out here as drivers just trying to make a living.Terry270 Thanks this. -

Whatever the truth though I'd think it's worth fighting. -

God rest their souls.
But the consensus of this thread says everybody deserves a break.
You are #### right ive f'd up. More times than i can count on all my digits. The difference is i didnt post it to the internet.
So give me a break terry, everyone deserves a break. Remember? Or is it a pick and choose who deserves what kinda thing? -
As far as you deserving a break too, I would say yes of course as long as you learn from the mistake. I'd say any of us who can go at least a few years in between minor violations deserves to keep our jobs or not have our insurance double. -
I was being a smartarse asking for a break about my posts to this thread.
On the contrary i have never received a violation or speeding ticket or had to fight to keep my job. So i do not know what that would feel like and hope i never do. But who knows? One day i may have a ticket because i wasnt paying attention and it may be serious enough that i may have to fight for my job.
Until then, best wishes to the op, and i hope for everyones sake you do learn your lesson. Best wishes to you all. -
My local cop gets paid to show up in court and the municipality would rather accept a negotiated settlement than pursue a court judgement. The municipality gets more money from the ticket without the courts involvement. Check to see if you can take the traffic school.
I would think nobody condones this rate of speed in or near a school zone. Your rate of acceleration was pretty high. Couple blocks in the city streets from a stop sign to 52, that really is inattentive driving. IF that is what happened.
Good luck.
