    Stop.

Here is how to handle it next time when there is a difference between instructions.

When the broker insists on the temp being different from the BOL, tell the shipper and have them sign off on it. If they don't and If the broker said "I checked with the shipper and they said X is the temp" then get the name of the person who told the broker the temp setting, and bring it to the shipper to confirm it.

If they say no it has to be at Y, then set it at Y, note the difference on the BOL and have them sign off on the Y.

Never leave the place with a discrepancy and never trust the broker.

Always cover your ****** in these types of problems, even if it delays you by hours.

TBH, this is probably the best advice you're going to get on the topic.

This topic is also why I *absolutely* stay the hell away from Reefer. Too many variables to get screwed up in the pipeline.

Too many drivers that shouldn't be pulling one.

Probably true, and I'm not trying to find out the hard way.

If you have that in writing, ask for 25% over the rate on the return, thats a standard "restocking fee" :p
