You do realize that's exactly what loads boards do with their various trends graphs? Not only is this a bad example it's even worse as there is a third party (load boards) that collate the data for you so you don't have to go the the (extremely overestimating) 100 grocery stores yourself.

My goal is to make the brokers make no money. Their goal is to make me make no money. It’s a tug of war and whoever has the supply/demand on their side gets more traction. Pretty simple. No hard feelings its called business. (Not saying to you Duck)

Im thankful to have the opportunity to work with brokers. If not my company would be much smaller with much higher overhead.

How does the transparency work? Is it all rates? Or is it only the brokers that have to share? If you have a direct load do you want that customer having to make your rate public so someone can come and underbid you? What if you have a direct customer and for whatever reason you can’t cover the load and it goes to a load board and all the sudden your rate is public?

It's like an auction, everybody is looking for at least a deal if not a steal, either way somebody will think they got the shaft.

Not regulated enough. UPS drivers have no right to make so much on the backs of hard working Americans. Their pay should be regulated to equal the pay of an average OTR driver. I agree with a UPS driver here. The free market sucks. We need more regulation and we need to start with UPS.

That is the best answer hands down that I have heard in all of these discussions.

Why are some brokers so afraid of transparency. Most arguments I read have to do with hate or blame on truckers. Sad. These brokers show how lacking they are.
It will be better for our industry when they are gone and only quality brokers remain.

Why are you so sure those currently incapable of saying no that's too cheap will suddenly be able to when they know what the broker is making?

I don’t hate other truckers although I do feel there are plenty that have no business owning a truck. It will be better for our industry when they are gone and only quality owner operators remain.

You never answered my question above about how transparent you want it to be. Do you have direct customers? Do you want your rates known? I’ve said many times I’ve never hauled a broker load and doing what I’m doing now I don’t really want others knowing the rate. I’ve also explained in these threads how the guy I work with bids our loads. And transparency would be a race to the bottom if the rates were made available to all carriers.

That will happen right around the time that Amazon has completely taken over the logistics industry and I'd lay it 7:1 you'll be missing even TQL at that point.
