A broker I hauled a load for is having their bond canceled in about two weeks. My net 30 for the load I hauled for them is in 6 days. On 31 Ill file on their bond for non payment. Can you go after the receiver for payment if the bond is exhausted before I receive payment?
Brokers bond being canceled, should I file before cancellation?

See if the broker offers quick pay. Is it possible the broker has another bond to replace the expiring one?
If broker doesn't pay, I would call shipper and receiver. They might be able to help get your payment.
Good luck.Midwest Trucker, Siinman, Flat Earth Trucker and 3 others Thank this. -
ABSOLUTELY. I went after Amazon a couple of years ago because their broker went on the lam after stealing over $150,000 in freight charges. The bond only paid out about 50%, so I went after Amazon for the rest. The Bill of Lading Act gives trucking companies the ability to go after ANYONE that benefited from your services if you didn't get paid.gentleroger, 86scotty, Siinman and 4 others Thank this.

While this is true, it is complicated and has a set of rules to follow. It also needs to follow the Interstate Commerce Commission Termination Act rules to collect.
Last year, we had to collect from a consignee for an unpaid bill; it wasn't all that easy, but we did get our money plus legal fees and interest. The company that received the product was also included; they were not the consignee of the loads.Siinman, RunningAces, Flat Earth Trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Definitely go after the company that hired the broker.I've been paid probably three out of five times.
Siinman and RunningAces Thank this. -
They maybe just hadn't renewed yet or it’s not showing.

The brokers bond expires on a Friday and just moved my expected pay date to the following Monday. They are still brokering loads on truckstop, too.

I would contact the bond company to establish a claim. There is an application process that may take a couple or few days.
You provide the supporting documents; they verify with the broker.
Who is the broker? System update shouldn't change your pay date. 30 days is 30 days.
Good luck.Siinman Thanks this. -
Yep, very curious who the broker is. Please share!
