Hey I stay near both dollar tree and dollar general DCs here in SC, does anyone know the brokers that run the loads on these accounts? I never see them on the board.

From what I hear they tend to make their own deal with various trucking companies. That usually cuts the broker out of the loop.

Unless they've changed their ways since I was pulling their trailers, they use the megas. You'd probably have to be leased on with one of the undesirable carriers to do that.

They use their own Megas, true. I imagine they occasionally do some backhauls of their own products. Has to be within their radius, though. I’ve hauled a lot of Loads into Dollar General. Different products, different Brokers. Finding what you’re looking for will be hard to do. Shippers ship to all their customers, Dollar General is just another on the list, like Walmart, or Kroger. Usually Shippers have multiple Brokers handling their Loads. All Competing against each other. All I can figure is to see whose Trucks are bringing in the most freight, try to work with their Brokerages. In other words it’s not the Dollar Generals Brokers, it’s the Shippers Brokers you’re looking for. Maybe focus on steady products like bottled water, or Paper products, bottled Soda, Beer. Probably need quite a few Brokers to make it happen. Tough to do with only one Truck. Can’t be in more than one place at a time.

Why would you want to deliver to Dollar stores in the first place?

I mostly enjoyed it. I liked going to the small towns off the beaten path. I liked backing in and unloading immediately instead of checking in at a guard shack and then waiting half the day or night. The physical work helped me stay in shape, although due to my own ego I pushed myself too hard and did some damage. If I wasn't concerned about back issues I'd consider doing it again.

There was a thread on here about someone complaining about having to back into all the dollar stores .
Not sure what company they were working for .
