Oh THAT kid. I saw some of your posts when the young fella first started off. Hope he’s still coming along like he was and doing ok. Going to be a good deck operator there.

This works because it works. Period
There will always be more drivers than needed wanting to get home and will grab cheaper freight to get there at less than a loss
You will always have someone needing to go from here to there and they grab that load for less to make the next one average outTallJoe, Another Canadian driver, Sirscrapntruckalot and 1 other person Thank this. -
Pretty much yes!!
I had an agent call me the other day. Or text??
I’m older
But he gave a load and price and said. Better than deadheading and it only went like 500 miles with 150 DH
I declined stating I can’t do favors at $6 fuel prices and the next offer was more than double the rate going 3,000 milesOhNoTerry, Rightlane76, Siinman and 7 others Thank this. -
Wow, never thought I'd agree with you on something.Midwest Trucker, Another Canadian driver and Cattleman84 Thank this.

Almost 1 year we in and only casualty has been the boss’s mailbox about three weeks in. Bit of a tight turn.Badmon, D.Tibbitt, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this.

I remember the mailbox. Had a bit of a chuckle over that. I know without a doubt my dad would have had him collecting his pay cheque from that mailbox for a couple of weeks, but that would be the end of it. At least that’s what happened when I ran over his mailbox. I’m glad it’s going well for him.Badmon, D.Tibbitt, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this.

I think some mega carriers are solving their”driver shortage” problems by sponsoring foreigners to come here and work dirt cheap. I know Western Express is bringing in Somalians and others from African countries. They pay them $.41 cents a mile and let them go. I had one from US express blocking me at the fuel pump today with his 4 ways on trying to figure out how to change his wiper blades, totally clueless with a clueless “trainer”. Truck stops are starting to look like 3rd world refugee camps.

Rates and fuel prices are separate issues and have nothing to do with each other.RefMata and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
-
They shouldn't be separate. Our entire business runs off fuel. If fuel goes up we need to charge more. Any other industry in the world charges more as their business expenses go up. Why are truckers getting the shaft.Trucker Paul, ProfessionalNoticer and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

Interesting, airlines seem to get away with it.ProfessionalNoticer and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
