Not true. Small carriers don't need a sales team all over the country. I have been in many local office's where the person on the phone calling was a broker salesman.
If a small carrier has just a few, I'm taking 2, or 3 shippers they will keep you plenty busy without ever using a broker.

I pump both side tanks at a local station with my own money. Not a fuel card.

Umm. Using a fuel card is using your own money.

Correction. You don't have to leave the house for groceries if you live in a big market like LA, NYC, etc. For most of the rest of us we still have to get in a car and drive to a store. In my hometown they don't even offer pickup service but they do in bigger markets of Murfreesboro and Nashville.

Ya they started that here about a month ago. Tried them once and went back to publix. Publix gets my order right every single time, and at the time they say they will have it. That's worth the 5 bucks a carry load I'd save wasting half a day at Walmart and getting the wrong products and almost spoiled produce. Not to mention the cashiers at Walmart just can't get the concept of not to bag leaking fresh chicken with lettuce.

It is? Really? I understand that. But the question was; How are you gonna use local fuel stops if they don't except fuel cards.... My response was to use CASH. CASH. I don't need a fuel card. I use CASH to pay for fuel anywhere I want to fuel.
