    I have:
    • 1MM Auto liability <---- needed by FMCSA (@ min 750K)
    • 1MM General liability <----- additional for knuckleheads costs me $400/yr extra
      • events in parking lot, not related to trucking activities
      • products/completed operation aggregate coverage (limit 100K) <--- whatever that means
      • personal/advertising injury (limit 1MM)
      • damage to premises rented to me (100K to any premises)
      • medical expenses (5000)
    • 100K cargo (required by brokers)
The only "EXTRA" on my end was trailer interchange.

I would not toss out General Liability (NOT same as FMCSA Liability) just to save $400/yr

    That's what I thought.

Reason it's cheap ($33/mo) is coz it's rarely used...but its there if needed.

I rent a parking spot, and that enough to provide peace of mind (to me)

Things have changed a bit now. Most of these companies use a company called RMIS to onboard new carriers, and the RMIS system will not let you sign up if you don't meet the minimum time requirements.

TQL, CH Robinson, Landstar, Hub Group, Mode, Uber are a few that will set you up from the start.

JB Hunt, Schneider, Coyote, Us Express, Echo Global, are a few that come to mind that require 30,60 days or even 6 months.

I've only done two RMIS contracts in two months. I like that it can be done on the phone in under five minutes.

More often than not, I find myself sending photos of my Certificate of authority and w-9 in order to pick up a load then completing a hard contract when I get home to print and scan it.
