My guess would be sliding glass doors! They are very popular down there. The house hubby and I had had a set on the back that opened up a full 10 feet, and slid completely behind the back wall of the house. The whole doorway was open, not just half of it. It was awesome!

There is a home owner association in Boise Idaho thet the rules required all homes to have cedar shake shingles so that all roofs matched,, surrounding these houses was a dry feild of rye grass,, a tall power tower had a short which dropped sparks that ignited the grass during a high wind storm, well the sparks from the fire landed on those cedar shingles and destroyed all but 1 or 2 of those houses,, the city of Boise is now looking into rules set by home owners associations. There was another one that prohibited a gal from parking her cars in her driveway due to not having concrete poured as the cement supply was short then,, the person that owned the subdivision didnt want dirt or mud on the roadway there,, i would have told them buy my house i am out of here.

We have all kinds of those "community housing" additions around here.. many of them you have to pay the community a monthly fee to run the community board.. what happens is they get the socialist supporting stay at home old hags to run the board, they have nothing better to do then drive around slipping letters in peoples doors letting them know they are violating something... I would never live in one of those.... people say oh they are safe... Well I feel just as safe with my alarm on my house and my .45 under my pillow living out here in the country.....

Anyways... Hope this man gets out of jail... I think the people around there should all cut one piece out of their yard and help him get grass... would be a simple solution to help a neighbor...

HOAs are ridiculous in many cases. I can see having certain rules in neighborhoods so you don't have someone painting their fence pink and yellow or having an old refrigerator in the dirt front yard next to the junked out Gremlin, but many of these places are just nuts. Retirees with nothing better to do then snoop around and develop a sense of power that they wouldn't have otherwise. We lived in a golf community for awhile and our neighbor had a newer camper that they kept alongside the house behind a gate and the HOA made them move the thing. They had to pay for storage. Sad thing is, when they bought the place, it was advertised as having RV parking. When a new HOA president was elected, he turned out to be a ########.
We live in a different neighborhood now, and don't have those problems.

A few years ago when my dad was still alive he lived in one of these with mom in Shakopee Minnesota. Dad wanted to have a flag pole put up so he could fly the American flag. He was told NO. Every place had to look the same, so if he wanted one dad would have to make sure that everyone had one.

Yea, I am so glad I bought my house where I did and don't have to deal with any of that crap. Now, one of my neighbors had a bunch of junk and junk trucks parked at his house and people complained enough where the city made him get rid of the crap, so I was glad there because he did have it looking like a junkyard. I can see when a neighbor gets asinine with stuff, but just because a lawn isn't deep green is ridiculous...especially enough to go to jail over, wow.

I live in a middle class town
But next to my town almost connected are huge mansions
About 10 years ago the town hired a helicopter to fly and take pictures of the city
    Then came the letters
It turns out they passed an ordinance that if a parked car can be seen by air or land it must be moved
Even farmers in the woods, with collections of old cars had to build a building if they could get permits, or get rid of the collections
    What a crazy law
Who the hell cares what can be seen from an airplane LOL

i live just south of this area "bayonet point", i can go check out this place if someone can get a address pm to me.

i am thinking perhaps he is trying to make a point to a HOA along with some stubborness.

also i have a son that could sod the yard if ya'll get serious about doing this, i can look over the yard and get the sq. footage and let ya'll know how many pallets it will take.

    WiseOne and Baack Thank this.
