What made you go paper?

 

I had Elogs with NFI and loved them.

 

I been running paper figured why swap. I don't push it at all I log it pretty much like I run it. I keep my door closed like I was taught.

 

Does mostly everyone run paper? If you run paper do they not put any tracking equipment in your truck?

 

Safety will suggest that you run e-logs but the choice is yours. As long as you can log legal you can run paper. If you have a lot of log violations they will force e-logs on you.

Your choices for e-logs are a rand McNally or Qualcomm. If you have either they will send dispatches that way. I have mine emailed to me.

As for dispatchers, I don't know the total number but each division is separate. I think dump has 10. As far as good vs bad, it comes down to how well your personalities mesh. If you have a problem with your dispatcher you can fire them and get a new one.

Are you saying no tracking by getting your dispatches emailed to you? Sorry I may have misunderstood you.

 

I edited to add an answer to your question regarding tracking devices on trucks running paper logs. The answer is no they do not install tracking devices on trucks running paper logs.

 

I'm on the fence about it. I've ran paper before but I like the simplicity of e-logs. I guess I'll see when I get there.

So far we are still a go for Monday orientation. WW Williams told me my truck will be finished by Friday and I've already paid for my Twic and Hazmay background check. I'm just ready to start making money.

 

There are plenty of drivers making money at Oakley running e-logs, I'm just a contrarian and prefer to run paper as long as I'm allowed to do so. I've talked to several drivers who were hesitant to switch but actually prefer e-logs after running them. I've run both with various companies and had no problems with e-logs when I've used them.
