2200 in fuel for 3 k miles ? You getting 3 mpg ?

 

Probably getting 5 mpg and back when fuel was at 4$ a gallon would be close. But when fuel was at $4 dumps were getting 1.75 a ldd mile or more

 

Brian Gilbert ....which division did you go in?

 

I'm in end dump.

 

They allowed me to get it fixed later on. It's not real bad so they allowed it. As far as your truck, if it looks good they may accept it. They'll ask for pictures of the truck and will let you know if it's OK or not.

brian gilbert where are your runs to in the end dump? how much are yuh grossing per week?

 

I've only been here going on 3 weeks. My first week was only about 3 days of pay and I believe that check was about 1900 gross. My last weeks check grossed at $3200 (I had to take a 34 during the week due to my starting so late on the week after orientation). This week it's looking like I'm going to run about 3100 miles. I did run into another Oakley end dump driver and he showed me his settlement and he brought home over $3,000 after fuel, insurance, and all three other fees.
Most of my miles so far have been Northeast Erie, PA ando over to Michigan and Wisconsin. I was asked by my fleet manager where I wanted or did not want to run. I told him I'd run wherever. My dispatcher have me his personal cell phone number so that I can reach him in the evenings or on weekends if I need something. This, so far, is one of the best Jobs I've had.
