No?
What then are all those bags holding feed. The one ton bags on a pallet maybe?
Im not trying to pick a fight. I just report on what I can see. Winter wheat is a little late coming in this year. Too wet me thinks.

I will be starting on the 20th for end dump. Looking forward to it.
-
That loaded rate includes the fuel surcharge... loaded pay for tank pays $1.49/ mile if I remember correctly.
We haul bagged and palletized freight in end dumps.catwrench55 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
do you work there?nobody else says what your company hauls and then you question us that do work there, not good

Anybody tell me if 2500 a week to the truck sounds like an accurate average?
-
That sounds about right as an average for tanks, I run a dump wagon so I can't say for sure. If you like to run you will make more and if you like your couch better than your driver's seat then you will make less. Oakley has the freight to keep you moving as much as you want to. I have talked to a few drivers in the tank division and all seem to be happy. Some have only pulled tank, and others came to tank from hoppers and dump trailers. I would've gone with a tank if it weren't for the mandatory Canada and 2-3 weeks out.
They have recently started a regional tank division that would get me home every weekend but it still requires Canada which I have no interest in. -
Yeah he told me living in ft Worth I could do regional and be home weekends. Sounds ok but I can average about 2500 week to the truck now and am home every night. Usually use the full 70 though.
Gets annoying working the metroplex traffic all day every day though. My company has started dedicating the longer runs to the company drivers.
Kinda what I was wondering if that base pay was for lazy ish guys. Biggest turn off is the preferance of a 5 year old truck or newer. Seems like it would be hard to pay for a new glider on that budget.pusherman Thanks this. -
I hadn't heard about preferring 5 year old trucks, that would put you in the middle of unreliable years for trucks. They were leasing on a lot of '05 '06 '07 trucks last Sept. and I've seen quite a few 379's and T-600's during my recent trips to "The Rock".
I brought a new '15 glider with me when I came here and have so far done quite well. I could in theory make more money with a good used truck but I wasn't able to find a used truck I would trust for anything close to a reasonable price.
I did the home every day thing for a year or so and while it was nice to sleep in my wife's bed every night only being in it for 5-6 hours and burning a full 70 every week got old fast. I sleep much better being in a truck on the road than I ever did trying to cram sleep in and get back to the yard every morning.RubyEagle, blade, Redtruck16 and 1 other person Thank this. -
They told me they would let me go with a 10 Yr old truck but they have to approve it first. They understand the pre-emissions truck deal
-
They told me if I was buying one to lease on I had to buy a 2010 or newer.
