BTC (Builders transportation company)

No I wasn't being ####y know it all at all.

My mindset at the time was " Hey, I've done all this before..the only thing they are telling me I need to know is put more chains or straps, whatever they call it, 100%" Because there were so many people in this class who have never even seen a binder, so I thought I was doing the right thing hanging back a little and letting those guys get more hands-on time.

And that was the main thing this dude was talking about when he " let me go" and he really didn't care what I had to say, literally would not even let me talk, every time I'd start to say something he'd just rudely cut me off, totally unprofessional on his part..and I just lost it, I knew I was screwed out of pay and out of a job, so I had nothing to lose by showing my #####.

 

And yeah, I tore up the bus ticket and threw it in his face. I only lived 3 hours from Memphis, and I'm a frequent visitor of casinos in the area ( Tunica,MS) and I had about 6 free nights at the Sam's Town Casino Hotel, so since I had already made it to Memphis on BTC's dime, I caught a taxi ride out to Tunica, and basically made a vacation out of it. Then I had one of my boys come out, we got drunk and rowdy in the casino for free lol and rode back home with him.

 

Heard good things about them. Pay is good apparently.

 

They start you out a hell of a lot better than most starter companies. $.35 cpm

 

That sounds about right, but I was making .40 with the mom n pop outfit I was with. But I had to leave them, the truck was on it's last leg, they'd never fix anything, and if they did it was just a band-aid fix, no heat nor A/C. I could go on and on..lol

 

Anybody know if BTC has a CDL school?

 

i don't think they do; from what i do know is that they do hire from approved schools & train u their self

 

I have been doing alot of research.... Trying to find a good company that will train. I don't have the money to spend or I would try roehl or TMC.

 

best flatbed companies that i know of are: maverick, tmc, mcelroy, & btc (right off the top of my head)

 

You may want to do some more research on BTC.

Not the best safety record........
