I worked for Lone Star, i dont have a single bad thing to say about them, i only left for a local job. My miles were great, GREAT money, very nice trucks, tons of freight. We had allot of drivers leave to go to KEEN....then 99% come back for better money at Lone Star.

KEEN and Lone Star do allot of the same stuff, and work together allot we share allot of freight and work out of eachothers terminals. KEEN runs the east coast, LST not so much.

    ATS is a bottom feeder

    This.
I run with a lot of the guys from these companies, as we all haul Cat machinery. ATS is the bottom of the barrel. Keen had an issue a few years back where Cat freight fell apart, and they let a lot of guys go. They have recently been bought out by a company in Ca though, due to Cat wanting them to grow their fleet, and Keen saying no way. So they sold out instead. The new owner also owns Ryerson Steel, as well as a few other large flatbed/ open trailer operations. They are also going to Volvo trucks instead of the Pete's they have been running. Lots of East coast work with them.
Lonestar run a lot of West out of Tx. Not a clue on their flatbed side, but the RGN guys seem happy when we run into each other at the ports etc though.
For future growth and opportunities, I would say Keen or Lonestar, as both have sides that haul the bigger machinery, which will always pay better than regular flatbed freight.

Out of Pensacola I see, have you gotten a pre hire thru these companies?? A lot of companies will not hire out of FL, even with you living on the panhandle. But I think Lone Star would be a good choice for you where u live as that is one of their running areas. Keen might have a hard time getting you in and out of the house regularly

i know theres allot of Oversize stuff that goes across the pan handle, not sure about down in your area though, but they will deadhead you a few hundred miles to get home if they cant find you anything going to that area.
