In at 28% be at 29% here in a few weeks, freight is down a little since this year last time. Last that's what we are told. Down because we aren't hauling s much pipe, but that's why we are doing more lumber abs dry wall

Definitely. Respect, far better pay check, ability to turn down loads, far better insurance, yeah, I'm happy

I thought TMC had good insurance? I called BTC way back when I was still in school...they definitely seemed to be very nice and respectful, at least recruiting did. They seemed more like a family company than a mega carrier

Tmc insurance was decent but didn't cover my testosterone injections, and had a lot higher deductible. Btc insurance covers my injections, and has a significantly lower deductible. The trade off is the better plan is more costly. Yes they are a family run company. Mr Philips is in the office daily, his son gene runs the day to day operations, another son is the manager of finances, and another handles the hr side. A wife of one of the sons manages payroll, and insurance

@Gunner75 Do you know if builders accepts current medical cards or do i have to take a new physical in Memphis? Do you know if the doctors they use check for sleep apnea? I'm a bigger guy and I know if i go to the right doctor.. thier testing me for that crap and I'm out of work and a huge medical bill.

If your medical card expires in less that 60 days they require you to get a new card. They use concentra for their medical checks, ive seen some big ### dudes come through orientation and not get a single complaint about sleep apnea.

I've got 7 months on my card. I was 430 pounds but I'm down to 390 and dropping as we speak. So i know I'm a 100% prime candidate for this crap. Even though I sleep like a silent but deadly bear in hibernation. I know exactly how the industry is towards us big guys. That's what keeps me at my less than good paying local position. Is fear of being misdiagnosed with sleep apnea, so I can continue to line some doctors pockets.
I see a guy here pretty much every weekend but is builders good on getting you home for the major holiday's?
You guys use any of those driver facing cams or lane departure sensors?

You can go home every week depending on where you live. There are several areas that require running 2 weeks at a time, but i can't recall exactly what they are other than southern alabama. We've even got a couple of guys who live out west. One in Tucson, the other in Nevada. They go home every 6 weeks because we just don't go out there. As for those driver facing cameras, or road departure sensors, nope neither one of those here yet. And i doubt we will get then anytime soon. We do have some autos and are currently upgrading the fleet to autos. The fuel savings alone is the reason why. The auto fleet is known for consistently being in the mid 6 to mid 7mpgs. We currently have 2011 to 16 mack pinnacles, 2012 prostars that are being sold off soon, and currently have 2016/17 cascadeas
