Yeah, I checked out the guys Mack here.
I live in Poplar Bluff mo. Right off us60. I'm about 55 miles west of sikeston Mo and I55. I'm also right in the middle of us67. Pretty good lane from Little Rock to St Louis.
My biggest concern is home on weekends and a decent check. I make around 5-690 a week being local with a 110 mile commute road trip daily. I would like to make 850-900 after taxes and benefits.
My other concerns are just not getting caught in the apnea crap storm and working for half decent people. If i can't find what I'm looking for in flatbed.. i may just go to college and learn how to be a millionaire.

Well i can promise you the Phillips family are good people. They like to get to know the drivers and their families, likes, dislikes. What i will tell you is the same thing they will tell you. Freight rates are down some, loads arent paying as good as they used too. But if you make sure you are availible, dont be late, dont have load claims. (Basically do your job) if you want to go home weekly, they can get you there and will guarantee 750 a week. If you are willing to go homw every two weeks, youll get a 68mph truck, and a guaranteed 1000 weekly check, so long as you do the aforementioned.

That sounds good to me. I'm assuming the weekly home time drivers get a slower than 68mph truck?

    This i will promise you
On the weeks where i run for 2 weeks, my take home has NEVER been below $1000. I'm at 29%.must have 2 years flatbed to get that. My best check to date was for a little over $1500 after taxes. I ran my ### off, but it was all worth it.

I hear ya. My family life just wouldn't allow for anything more than 4-5 days of being gone. Unfortunately for me, I don't have good local options in my parts. I would rather haul propane and gas but those are also very slim to none in my area. So I'm going to the next best paying avenue and that's flatbed.
I've hauled logs and haul Pallets a few weeks out of a year at my current job but I'll still need full training. There's a lot more to it than just throwing 15 straps and driving.

I'll be honest with you then, they may very well want you to go with a trainer for 2 weeks then.

Well, I just assumed there would be a week or two class for training. I didn't know about training.
Do you have any insight on that aspect of BTC, gunner? Are the training trucks double bunk? Do they make you team drive or do I just have a buddy a long to show me the ropes of flatbedding?
It's been a very very long time since I've been with a Trainor..didn't think I would ever have to go out with one again in my life.

I worked there 5 years ago. If I had made better decisions (put the weed down), I'd still be there today. They are a really good company. Everything as advertised. I got very good home time and made very good money. I have a buddy that works there now. They pay him 29%. They really look for him because of how he runs for them. Everything gunner said is spot on.

    Gunner75 and Dark_Majesty_06 Thank this.
