359's are like old Harley's they just have character and soul..

The new aero trucks are just so generic and plain.

I liked mine but I don't have an ordinary B model.

I built up a good b model a couple years ago with fuel pump rebuild, big hp turbo and injectors. I pulled the 14613 tranny and swapped it with a 18913a for the torque I was wanting and stretched the frame 6 foot. It definitely had potential to be a sweet ride. It was a k100 that I wanted to make my personal truck so I hired a driver for my 379 and put the k100 on the road. First trip out was on the roughest county roads in ok. and oil field trucks made sure there wasn't a smooth spot left anywhere. I kept asking myself what the hell was I thinking on this project. I ran it for a couple months and sold it to get back out all I could and count my loss. It was a great truck for a toy project but not a daily driver. I can say I lost my craving for the k100 after that. They still look cool to me but I can't take the beating. I'll stick with the classics with hoods

My B has a C 16 rotating assembly. Compound turbo's, custom cam from Hillcrest Diesel, and custom nozzles. Naturally I worked the pump to suit me. She will really get loose when I ask her too. I'm running a 20913a with a 1750 spicer aux behind it. The back box has been gutted and dummy spacers made to replace all the gears I'm not wanting to turn. All I use is direct and overdrive

Now I'm impressed. I knew it had all it needed but I had no idea the extreme you took it to. I'd like to run with you sometime and see how she does up close. How does she idle

Idle is pretty smooth Hillcrest offers 3 cams. In short a fuel getter, a puller, and an all out wow version. I went for the torque. I went with the compound turbos to get the lag out of it. A big single will produce more but you gotta give to get. I have never put it on the dyno cause that's just a number to me. I do know she does well with 90000 in the Ozarks back home. Well boys I have overslept here at Amarillo I'm really gonna have stretch her out to make OKC to load and be home tomorrow sometime

Yeah. I had to snap this pic a couple weeks ago as I was coming out of the rest area on I-90 west of Albany. The one on the left is an '86 with a funny white colored 425 3406b, 15 deep reduction single over. I wonder if the one on the right will be running in 30 years?
