You can install them but that doesn't mean the drivers will use them. Some don't like the click click. Some will say they're used to the engine. Some will say they need to drown out the APU on one side and the reefer on the other. Some will say their truck wont start in the morning. Some will say they don't want to cold start their engine. And some will run the bunk heater and idle.

My parents didn't send me to Iraq or Afghanistan, I signed the line and went on my own free will. Even signed the line under the condition I asked for which was a guarantee that I was infantry in the Marine Corp......

Then one will kill a puppy for the win. Then what?

Sounds like it could very well end up like another big government mandate to purchase a product that not everyone wants.

Yes, heard this valid argument before. Auto shutoff switch is an option. Bonus for low idle, cutting pay or speed limiter for high idle. Obviously this particular winter is a freak of nature where all bets are off. I am referring to milder lower temperature. 20 to 55 fahrenheit. Not when you are risking not to start in the morning.

It's a common talking point I was referring to. Us dependency on foreign oil that sponsors international you know what. It's by no means Vietnam anymore. Some people volunteer, others don't have better prospects home.
The same thing as this oil thing is drug users , especially if it comes from Afghanistan but it would not be far fetched to say Columbia or Mexico or any other country might be linked here. Poor Philip...

If i had someone driving the truck for me. I'd put anti idle stuff on the truck so it wont idle more then a few min if over 0 and under 80 out. They dotn like it, tough, go drive for someone else. Also I'd give the driver a bonus for meeting and exceeding MPG goals, so if they want the biggest bonus, its in their best interest not to idle.

Since i installed mine, I have not idles for anything but extended microwave use. (5 or 10 min) In -3 my motor stated just fine. With the right batts, right oil and a right fuel additive, it will start just fine. Like i said in the other post, i'd install auto shutoff. Also incentiveise drivers with high mpg and punish those who get low mpg (speed limiters and no bonus) Even in this freek of nature winter min has kept me warm. It rare I even turn the knob all the way up.

As for the click click, my fuel pump is mounted far enough away that i cant hear it. Even if i could id rather a quiet click click then engine noise and the truck shaking all night. Also the fear of CO2 leaking while motor is on is a real fear especially on older trucks. I maintain my equipment, but if something breaks on the road, the CO2 from an engine is a lot more then the co2 from a bunk heater. Neither is safe, but if 1% of your truck exast gets in side, your could die. if 1% of the bunk heater gets inside, you would prob be ok. Also since there is no muffler and less bends, the chance of a bunk heater co2 leek is much less. I still have a Co2 detector in my truck, but I feel safer not idleing my truck.
