The roof fiberglass? If it is how thick is it you think. Old thin fiberglass becomes very brittle from sun exposure.

So all your repairs are fiberglass on fiberglass? Even fiberglass benifits from sandblasting to contribute to adhesion over just grinding it.
Like I said polyester is not a secondary adhesive bonding element
When you build boats you have a 24 hour window to lay out your next layer of fiberglass to get a Chemical bond to the previous layer.
After that you have to sand the previous layer and the bond is a 1/10 of the chemical bond.

You can get away with just grinding the glass and repairing it being its mostly cosmetic. If you were repairing a structural part of the fiberglass cab than I would suggest sandblasting than using epoxy resin.Rideandrepair, Deere hunter, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this.
