I heard about such cases in NJ long time ago. I think it was "Trucking with Authority" Podcast. I don't go there because of that.

Why NJ think they are so special?
    Imagine every state doing this.

If you pickup or deliver and the mileage is high enough you have to file. They don't enforce like NJ to see if you're registered. But if you pop up on their radar they will go after you.

If more states are pursuing this avenue for revenue (a article I read says they are) I friggin can't get May here quick enough! When my insurance is up I am out! 6 years of hell I never want to remember (I only like the actual flatbed work LOL). I will live the rest of my life genuinely feeling for you carrier/O/O's. I feel like if you can become a successful carrier/O/O then you can friggin do anything so you might as well open the restaurant or shop or whatever you have in mind because it WILL BE WAY LESS aggravation and WAY more gratifying than being a friggin US carrier/O/O. Good friggin riddance!

I hear what you're saying, but that's not what I'm reading below. Their site is saying after 2016 they abolished it for most (LLC's) foreign (out of state) entities, except for C corps....

As for Jersey, like CA and NYC, I refuse to go there and I no longer have too.

I'm a C-Corp so it still applies to me as it does to any entity that is taxed as a corp. If it's just a pass through, then no.

I'm not sure what they are doing with the taxes in Pennsylvania, but as far as I know if you pick up or deliver within the state you do have to have Pennsylvania puc Authority.

With New Jersey it's not about any Authority, but your business has to be registered with them and depending on your structure there are taxes to be paid.

    Whatever @wichris says is correct.

Can i print this out real big and hang in my office? LOL

If you have PA PUC then you are taxed on the intrastate loads, regardless of the entity.
