Dont listen to the idiots who try to tell you the per diem is a good thing. YOU ARE WORKING FOR $0.23 CPM !! Get out of 1985 !
antoinefinch and thelastamericanhippy Thank this. -
I still have buddys working there, and if this driver says hes makeing 3000 miles, wonder wy drivers there like my buddys< that been there years are runing 1200 miles in the week, also that about they dont rush you is not true, you will pickup loads that should have been picked up a day before, and have to run your 11 till they end ,even if it means all night. Let me know when your good company starts pulling the leash, then post your comments.boy you must have worked for some really bad companys to pass this one so fast on your list,be safe and good luck with your miles,ps,it sounds like the way they treat anybody new at any comp.
-
yes have worked for a bunch of really bad companies but on electronic logs so you only run what you can and its nice because they cannot make you run when you dont have hours.have yet to have to run more than 9.75 hrs at a time.

actually in 1985 I was making 3 times what I make now for any company.BUT the per diem isnt a good or bad thing -in all you do get your money whether its now or at tax time.I dont like it but it is what it is and it doesnt hurt you financially like you are making it sound like-it is just another thing that is forced like the HOS rules that are a total government crock. The company all in all is good-and its hard to find one of those anymore.
-
Do you think $0.23 a mile is good money? -
am not making .23 a mile-only being taxed on .23 a mile-you still get your dif from the $52 a day allowed and actually make more on your paycheck.
THE COMPANY IS GOOD-PREPLAN GOOD AND if you want to think different whatever.Any GOOD accountant will get you the rest of your non taxable deduction.SO THINK WHAT YOU WANT.
ANYONE OUT THERE WANT A GOOD COMPANY-CALL AND TALK WITH THEM -
The company is only paying you $0.23 a mile. You are shooting yourself in the foot. The $0.09 cpm is NOT INCOME. It will affect everything from social security to getting a loan. Good luck though. $0.23 cpm in 2010 is a shameful wage.Last edited: Sep 13, 2010

you can find bad in any company if you look hard enough, why would anybody stay with a company a year if they wasn't happy, just don't make any sense !
I have been at this Job for 28 years and still kicking right along, sure there are bad companys but they are also bad drivers, works both ways, just do your Job keep the left door closed and get your miles and the money is there, but you can't blame someone else if you want to play the big rigger game and play around the truckstops, and run down the road wining about your job, I've found it is a heck of alot less stressful if you leave the CB radio off and enjoy the XM and just enjoy the trip. so what you had to sit in traffic ..kinda goes with the Job ! Happy Trucking be Safe ! -
