just know the reality of driving for them-and NEVER have to pull thru weigh stations and been flagged thru several inspections-even one last week in MO.They fix everything I ask for service on whether on the road or at their shop.

Glad you are enjoying you time there, I go to orientation after Christmas, looking forward to better miles than I get now
-
you can definetely get the miles-they line you up with runs even before you make a drop. You gotta manage your time well but the miles are there to run.

I had to laugh at your first video, having been on a plane hundreds of time (38 years with TWA). Sure glad you were not on the Big Gray Dog, maybe that would have been a more entertaining video.
It is nice when your company treats you decent, as mine does. We all got a $60. gift card at WalMart for Christmas, course we didn't work for the 2 weeks due the pipe plant was closed, but not their fault. -
I liked your latest episode on you tube. I plan on writing a letter to the FMCSA saying that we need some type of HOS that is not a "one size fits all" What works for one person might not work for another. Us drivers need to be able to stop the clock and take a break for an hour or two when we feel it is necessary. Not after a period of time they deem fit, like they are proposing.
I thought they were getting that picture with the meetings they held back in the summer. But now I don't know. I can drive for 8-10 hours non stop but I would not want to do that every day.
I hope Butler continues to work out for you. -
This is really odd. I applied to an ad on Career Builder this week for Bulkmatic Transport. It was to be a local job in Nashville. Got an email back from Dana Russell in their Recruiting and Safety department that said call them asap to talk about the local job.
So I did. When I talked to Dana, she said it was an OTR job for Butler Transport and drivers get 24% of gross. I asked her twice about the Bulkmatic position and she said "no, we don't have positions for that, only Butler".
The bait and switch has turned me off completely. I will not work for a company that their first step is to try to trick you. -
motocross066 and KE5WDP Thank this.

Crisco,
As a recruiter for Butler Transport out of Kansas City, I can assure you there is no one here by the name of Dana. I am not sure what that was all about, my only guess is that there it another Butler on the west coast that is a flat bed company and it could have been for them. If you have any questions about Butler Transport Kansas City my name is Ace.
Besides, it would be pretty dumb on our part to put out there an add looking for local drivers in Nashville when, 1. we do not hire out of Nashville, and 2. we 100% OTR.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 17, 2011

I've copied the signature of the email I received and put it at the bottom of this posting. . Call that number and find out for yourself. It is obvious to me Bulkmatic is doing something that isn't quite honest and have no clue as to the connection to whatever Butler Transport they refer to. Shame on Bulkmatic because I thought they were a quality company.
Last , I've never been nor will be interested in Butler because I know they don't hire in my area AND I avoid refer and food warehouse deliveries. Just not a good fit for me.
