Okay so I decided to buy my own truck. I have been looking to buy a Volvo 670, which is a 2011, but with a 2009 engine, which is weird. The truck has 470k, and I'm getting this after market warranty from the dealer, it's a premium 2000 plus.
I'm apprehensive about this truck, and I heard some bad reviews about after market warranties, like premium plus. I was also contemplating whether I should just go buy 2013 volvo truck with less millage and more factory warranties because mine does not have any. My question to my respective O/O's is what after market warranties they recommend if I go buy a volvo with 470k millage? Should I even consider buying a volvo with 470k, miles, the engine is D-13, or should go for something newer?
    Thanks you

There was something about the fuel pump I heard something about that it would fail and take out the engine with it (pretty weird). Im wondering if you got one of those that it happened to the person that told me about it said that it was warranty and they put in a brand new engine for him. Just a thought

My Volvo (2013) had a 250,000/2 Yr general warranty and a 600,000/5 Yr engine warranty. Even the tires had a 600,000 mile warranty against defects. That didn't cover road hazards though.

I own a 2008/780 with D13 and is not legal to use older engine on this 2008 Vin/ something is fishy about 2009 engine on 2011 frame/ should have SCR not dpf only

It's probably 2009 specs. Go to a Volvo dealer with the TRUCK vin# have them print out history and specs on it. It will then give you the serial# on the engine that came with it! and any undated numbers if they did a swap under warranty. If those numbers don't match. RUN DONT WALK! is this a truck with just DPF OR DPF AND DEF. The later engines with def work much better, and not just Volvo, all manufacturers have problems with those engines.
Good luck, be smart. These things can kill you financially in a short amount of time. I had a brand new 2011 Crapcadia almost did it to me.

    karma123 Thanks this.
