Typical Shaker hater that don't know all too much.. :violent1:
"Well the wrecker man told me" Lmao..

Can get the exact same Rockwell/Meritor, Eaton axles, Hendrickson or Neway suspensions whatever is offered by every other oem.. Heavy spec or double frames, 2250tq rated drive lines, it's all there, if you spec it..

You don't like like a Freightliner, that's fine. But I wouldn't go telling a bobtail member that it's all wrong for end dump work. While most Columbia's are highway spec'd, there are some out there with heavy specs..
Hell, even Volvo makes the VNX for heavy haul, & offroad..

Seen it happen a couple of times.

    Sorry about your luck.

Stick with trucks built for the abuse.

And don't argue with what you haven't seen.

Funny thing is Western Star uses the same rear ends and powertrain. You don't hear anybody complain about Western Star's durability.

No need to bring politics into it. I mostly seem to agree with snowwy on politics, but I can definitely drop my preconceptions and understand that there's every kind of truck from every kind of maker. It's all just steel and aluminum anyway, so all that matters is how the parts they supply and attach to the frame. You mostly see freightliner out on the road with megas completely tarded out and no offroad capabilities, but it's all in the spec. @snowwy please understand this.

    I understand it just fine.

And I don't play on the road. Most of my career has been in the dirt. And mud.

I'd suggest a Cummins M11. These are reliable engines that everybody's worked on. That's going to be a big help for someone like yourself that's self described as not having much knowledge about semis. They are easy to repair and not going to break the bank. They have a good life expectancy.
Also, consider your wheelbase. Doing dumps, you're going to want a truck with a short wheelbase.
    Good-luck on your search!
    Regards

Stick to talking about things that you know about. Which apparently, isn’t trucks.
