    Id imagine its varies state to state? I know in Iowa if a percentage of your miles will be out of state (15 or 25 percent i dont remember) you don't have to pay sales tax on truck or trailer.

    Congratulations on your purchase!
    I'm not sure about your state, but in some states, probably most, when you transfer the title, you get 100% tax credit back for whatever amount you spent on sales tax in the state you purchased the truck/vehicle. You shouldn't have to pay twice. You'll need proof of the taxes paid elsewhere and they will apply it towards the state tax you will have to pay to transfer the title.
    Some of this depends on whether or not you've applied for a federal tax exemption through your tax ID.
