The company I work for is slowly getting rid of our Western Star gliders with Factory rebuilt Detroit’s with 350,000 on them and the truck.
Replacing them with new Cascadias . they believe they have the emissions worked out
Between the aerodynamics and new EPUs they have , the fuel savings are large enough to take the risk on them work claims.
Their buying automatics Also

Perhaps the owner selling the glider makes so much profit that he'd rather buy new gliders and take advantage of depreciation again.
Rideandrepair, I glide 47 and Rubber duck kw Thank this. -
Seeing as they are asking %80 to %90 of the original purchase price at 500k miles. Seems like good business to me?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

I'm on my second glider. Traded the old one for a new one. Added an APU and 24.5s to the new one and everything is peachy. Got it from Harrison Truck Centers, up in Iowa and both trucks have been excellently put together (not that Fitzgerald junk).
Had the A/C compressor go out after 11,000 miles but it was replaced under warranty, no fuss or bother and not a bit of trouble since. -
