Hi there,im looking for advise on my next truck and 3 makes of trucks I have been looking at buying but cant decide .First truck (2007) freightliner argosy,2nd Kenworth K104 (2005) or 3rd International Eagle (2006).All have over 500 hp and 18 speed boxes,im not stuck on engine brand as long as its in good condition and I can continue to look after it.The freightliner ive been told rattles and falls apart but gets the job done, the kenworth ive been told rides a little rougher and is a little tight in the cab but build quality is better but the truck will be older for the money I have to spend ,And the bonneted Eagle I have no F N idea about ? So if anyone out there has done some time in any of these rigs could you give your feed back on there good and bad points. Thank you for your time and effort.Johnno

Not familiar with the argosy or k104 but very familiar with the I model internationals.

A lot of the plastic interior is trash but that's about the only bad part IMO. Climate control is under the seat where it's easy to access for cleaning and repair. The cab wiring makes sense and is very easy to access for repair. Interior assembly makes it easy to neatly route wiring out of sight. Exterior is well thought out for easy disassembly for service and repair.

international im told don't have much pulling power with a heavy load. majority of my family members have freightliner's they may break down but I been told the parts are easier to come by. I had a 2007 387pete clutch went out in LA it took 9 days to fix. I was told that if it had been a freightliner or international I would have been out in 2/3 days. my boyfriend loves freightliner's he has a 2003 he has a turbo, clutch, water pump, belts, of course tires. the only thing he is bad on in his truck is his bushings(the rubber always comes out). the rubber be gone out of them at least once a year. nothing really major except the turbo he got 1,700,000 on his truck he say he aiming for 2 then he will consider getting motor done. he bought his truck 7 years ago. he talks about me because im stuck on pete387's he say he got the real truck

Did you try to search on some online store? By the way, what will you do if you have the truck that you need?

Hey thanks for the quick replys,Sounds like maybe the eagle is on par with freightliner but with a little more thought on cab design/layout.The k104 kenworth is a cabover and I think your pete would look way cooler than most argosy I see around. And well I have just about finished a ground up full rebuild of a 40ft tri axle trailer with 3 way twistlocks for containers and I am buying a 30ft skell trailer for single container work. This work I have already and I will most likely try and break into pulling low loaders with machinery on the back (e.g dozers, graders, tractors, boats in the near future and fitting hydraulics to the prime mover to cover any style of work, like delivering mulch/bark with a walking floor or tipper work,sand/gravel? Hell this country relys on trucks for everything and without trucks Australia stops !!What was the ride like in the eagle by the way?? The 3 makes as pictured below

Your eagle is called a 9900ix over here. That's the top of the heap 9200 based tractor. It replaced the 9300 and was replaced by the Lonestar. Real nice truck. It comes standard with the best interior IH offered and the sleeper furnishings are much better quality than the standard tractors.
